Our APAC office recently hosted their first “Packed Lunch” event with the delightful Cynthia Jee Yoon Kim, focusing on ‘Empowering Women and Embracing Equity’.

We have been accredited as a London Living Wage Employer. This means that our commitment will see everyone working at Across the Pond will receive a minimum hourly wage, which is significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s.

As part of our ‘Packed Lunch’ lunch and learn series we welcomed Tom Armstrong and Jed Hallam from Common People to our London Office.

Common People is a community for people within creative industries with experience of being from a Working Class background. They started in the summer of 2021 after reading a report which found that only 16% of people working full time in the creative industries are from a Working Class background. They aim to address this imbalance through talks, consultancy and connecting good people.

Continuing with Across the Pond's “Packed Lunch” speaker series, we welcomed Jaspreet Kaur (Hothi), poet, teacher and author of “Brown Girl Like Me - The Essential Guidebook and Manifesto for South Asian Girls and Women”.

We had a brilliant 'Packed Lunch' session recently. We were honoured to hear from Alex Causton, who shared his journey with HIV, and told us important ways we can be allies to the HIV+ community.

For the latest talk in our 'Packed Lunch' series, Rizwana Hamid from the Centre for Media Monitoring presented her team's findings on 'Misrepresentation of Muslims and Islam in the Media'. A fascinating session. All of us who are involved in creating content that represents individuals and communities have the power to do so responsibly.

Packed Lunch - our lunchtime team get-together to share creative inspiration and general good stuff. This week we invited Angie Alderman from Genius Within CIC to talk to us about Neurodiversity Awareness.

In this 'Packed Lunch' session, we heard from the brilliant Katie Neeves, Trans Ambassador (She/her). Katie talked to us honestly and openly about what it is like to be transgender, she gave us advice on how to be a trans ally, and generously gave us an open forum for questions.

As part of our DEI focused speaker series, this week we discussed “LGBTQ+ Representation in Adverts: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly” with Rich Miles and Asha Harkness from The Diversity Standards Collective

The utterly brilliant Selma Nicholls came to talk about the importance of representation in ads and content, and share her inspiring story.
